1. Apologies and substitutions
1.1 There were no apologies or substitutions.
2. Inquiry into Energy - Scoping paper and draft terms of reference
2.1 The Committee voted on the proposal that its first inquiry would be on Energy. The vote was 8 for the proposal, 1 against and 1 Member did not vote.
2.2 The Committee considered the draft terms of reference and discussed some amendments.
2.3 The Committee agreed that revised draft terms of reference should be circulated for Members’ agreement by email.
3. Environment and Sustainability Committee - Ways of Working
3.1 The Committee voted on a proposal to establish two task and finish groups; one to consider the Common Agriculture Policy and the other to consider the Common Fisheries Policy. The vote was 5 for the proposal, 4 against and 1 Member did not vote .
3.2 The Committee agreed that Members’ would notify the Clerk of their preferences regarding membership of the task and finish groups.
4. Petitions: P-03-273 Transportation of wind turbines in Mid Wales & P-04-324 Say No to TAN 8 – Windfarms and High Voltage
4.1 The Committee considered the petitions and agreed that they should be incorporated into its inquiry into Energy.
4.2 The Chair would formally respond to the Chair of the Petitions Committee.
5. Environment and Sustainability Committee remit - European Context
5.1 The Committee heard from Gregg Jones from the Research Service in Brussels about his role and how he could assist its work.
